Moments ago, I received the year’s best articles from BrainPickings, my favorite newsletter of year 2012. And then I questioned my self – Has it not become customary to write a summary of the year? Everyone does a round-up of things when the year-end. So is it so important thing to do? Yes it is, and I strongly believe this is one of the most important things to do. The closure or the start of something is an opportunity offered to us – to look back, introspect, and if the circumstances allow – do make a note of things, events, people, and convert into your learning from the year/era.
We are in those times where things are changing at a pace never seen or imagined before. Be it our lives, or the world as a whole, thing are changing and the pace of the change is so quick that we often forget to notice what all changes. And when we forget to notice the same, we lose an opportunity to measure the same.
Irrespective of who you are, what you do, and why you think the way you think – It is very important to make notes of those important things which can be referred on a later date. And if you thought mental notes are enough, well let me tell it to you from my experience – Something which is not documented, evaporates with time.
So while we still have a few more hours left in this year, do a bit of recollection of what year 2012 was for you, and create a document for your own reference. Trust me, it helps. If nothing you will get an opportunity to relive the moments and possibly make you think, smile or laugh over it.
Look into the rear view, you might never see some of the things ever again. Don’t miss the last opportunity!
